Mr. Richard Lee McLeod, of Maplesville, Alabama, formally of Samson, died Sunday June 10, 2018 at the age of 81.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home, with his grandson, Rev. Brooks Till officiating.  Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Assembly of God Cemetery in Samson, Alabama.  Visitation will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continue until service time.

Mr. McLeod was born January 22, 1937 in Samson, Alabama to the late Viola McLeod. He was a hard worker, love to fish, and a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He worked as an equipment operator for the City of Defuniak Springs, Fl, after his retirement he moved to Maplesville, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola McLeod.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty McLeod, Maplesville, Alabama; three children; Rhonda Till (Donnie) of Gallatin, Tennessee, Steve McLeod (Kim), Maplesville, Alabama and Mark McLeod, Milton, Florida.  Eight Grandchildren; Melissa Caldwell, Amanda Smith, Brooks Till, Cameron McLeod, Corey McLeod, Heavenly McLeod, Peyton McLeod and Aubree McLeod. Eleven Great-Grandchildren.  Two sisters; Faye Lunsford of Andalusia, Alabama and Margie Thomas of Samson, Alabama and one brother Jimmy Simmons of Samson, Alabama.
