Mr. Thomas Glenn Shipman, a resident of Ozark, died early Thursday morning, February 28, 2019, he was seventy-seven years old.


A memorial service will be held for Mr. Shipman will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 3, 2019, in Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Woodham officiating, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. Military Honors will be presented following the service. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time.


Mr. Shipman was born January 22, 1942, in Clio, Alabama to the late Norman Hawkins Shipman and Beatrice Barbaree Shipman. Mr. Shipman served in the United States Army in Vietnam and in the Air National Guard for thirty-six years. He worked with Civil Service as Chief of ARAC Maintenance, retiring in 2003.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Shipman was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church. 


Survivors include his wife Patricia Woodham Shipman of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Craig Powell of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Kate Shipman of Flowery Branch, Georgia; three grandchildren, Sydney Shipman of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Kaylie Powell and Gracie Powell of Ozark; one sister, Lois Dykes of Brundidge.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chalkhead Baptist Church Youth Building Fund, 495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama  36360.
