Obituary: Mr. Wendell Bond


 



Mr. Wendell Bond of Slocomb passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at Flowers Hospital. He was 66.


A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Minister Kurt Vally officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.


Mr. Bond was born May 21, 1951 in Sacramento, CA to the late Ted and Sarah Benton Bond. Wendell cherished his time with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing the game of golf and was an Alabama football fan. Mr. Bond was a member of the Geneva Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. He was a loving husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.


Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Betty Barnett Bond; two sons: Wendell Lee Bond Jr., Dothan and Ashley Bond (Stacey), Panama City, FL; one daughter, Miranda Williams (Jimmy), Wicksburg; three grandchildren: Andrew Bond, Destini Lewis and Parker Williams; two great-grandchildren: Hudson and Houston Brewer; sisters: Sue (Ralph), Brenda, Kim (Robert) and Lisa; brothers: Haywod, Charles (Helen) and Billy Ted; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
