Mr. William Henry Ryals Sr., age 78, a resident of Ashford, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018, at Southeast Health.


Funeral services will be held at Antioch Baptist Church in Ashford on Monday, November 26, 2018, at 2:00 pm with Reverend Danny Bynum and Reverend Greg Aman officiating.  Entombment will follow at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Ryals to Antioch Baptist Church, 3250 South Rocky Creek Road, Ashford, AL, 36312.


Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Glover Funeral Home Chapel.  At all other times, the family will be at the residence.


Mr. Ryals was born March 23, 1940, to William Otis and Velma Gilley Ryals.  He was the owner and president of Tri-State Roofing and Remodeling Company Inc. and the co-owner and vice-president of Wiregrass Gin and Taylor Peanut Company.  He loved farming and farmed for many years.  Mr. Ryals was a past member of the Ashford Quarterback Club and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.


Mr. Ryals was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, William Justin Ryals.


Survivors include his wife of 60 years Dorothy Pynes Ryals, 2 sons, William Ryals, Jr. and Billy Wayne Ryals, Sr., both of Columbia; 1 daughter, Stephanie Ryals Ingram (Todd) of Ashford; 1 sister, Syble Harper (David) of Ashford; 3 brothers-in-law, Mack Pynes (Merlene), Dennis Pynes (Nell) and Walter Pynes (Maxine); 2 sisters-in-law, Sarah Chalmers and Linda Hallford; 7 grandchildren, Eric Ryals, Kayla Ryals, Brandon Ryals, B. J. Ryals (Rachael), Matthew Ryals, Ashton Ingram and Luke Ingram; and 6 great-grandchildren and several nephews.


Pallbearers will be Eric Ryals, Brandon Ryals, B. J. Ryals, Matthew Ryals and Luke Ingram.


The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at DCI along with Dr. Nimmagadda and Dr. Kantamneni (Ravi) and also the nurses on the 3rd and 5th floors at Southeast Health for taking care of him during his sickness.
