Mrs. Alice Virginia Poole Owen, age 94, of Dothan, left this life on Saturday, October 14, 2017.
Virginia moved to Dothan from Montgomery in 1957 with her husband, John Frith and children, Gary and Carol. She married John Owen in 1966 after John Frith passed away in 1961. She worked and retired from Sears in 1985. She spent her life living in Cloverdale on Owens Street until recently when her health began to decline, when she moved to Eufaula to live with her daughter, Carol.
Virginia was a loving, caring Christian mother and friend. She loved God, her family, and friends, her church, New Freedom and her pastors, Larry and Marilyn Adams. Her greatest joy was knowing and loving Jesus.
She leaves behind two children, Gary (Kaye) Frith, Dothan and Carol (Bobby) Gunter, Eufaula; six grandchildren, Chris, Keith, Rusty, Lee, Mike (Cindy), and Donna; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Monday, October 16, 2017 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until 3 PM, prior to the service.
