Dale Wilson Kennington, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on May 2, 2017.  She was born on January 24, 1935 to the late Karow and Lucile Wilson, and moved to Dothan shortly thereafter.

She received her B.A. in Art History and Design from the University of Alabama.  She later became an accomplished artist whose work can be found in private collections and museums across the nation and abroad; most notably, the United States Embassy in Paris, France, the public/private collection of King Carl XIV Gustaf of Sweden, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC.

While her passion was art, her love was for her friends and family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Kennington.  She is survived by her three children, Brooke Lindstrom (Bob), Russ Kennington (Gina), and Brad Kennington (Laura), five grandchildren and one great grand-child.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Dothan on Friday, May 5, 2017, with visitation beginning at 9:30 in the church parlor and the service to follow at 11:00.  In lieu of flowers, any gifts may be made in Dale’s memory to the Wiregrass Museum of Art, First United Methodist Church of Dothan, or Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
