Deana McMillan Tharp, 75, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Flowers Hospital after a brief but fierce battle with cancer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 6:30 PM at Salem Wesleyan Church, 2764 Salem Church Road, Sneads, Florida. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in her memory.

Mrs. Tharp was the daughter of the late Junnie and Josie McMillan of Sneads. Her surviving siblings are Geraldine Griffin (James, deceased) of Dothan and Butch McMillan (Brenda) of Elizabethtown, NC. Deceased siblings include Russell McMillan (Dorothy, of Sneads), Adell Mercer (Lethel, deceased), Arthur McMillan (Mattie, deceased), and John Wayne McMillan (Sue, of Malone).

On October 8, 1960, she married Les Tharp and became an Air Force wife and a homemaker. They were married for 33 years until Les died in 1994.

Les and Deana had two children. Tammy Smith, of Phenix City, AL, is married to Donnie Smith. They have two sons, Adam (42) and Preston (27). Rick Tharp, of Ozark, AL, is married to Donna. They have four children: Paxton (20), Landry (18), Kessler (16), and Millan (10).
