Mrs. Edith Virginia Collins Hales of Hartford, Alabama went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2018. She was 70 years old.

 

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 4pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dwain Tingle and Rev. Kenneth Etheridge officiating and under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the church from 3pm to 4pm.

 

Virginia was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a wonderful mother and grandmother who was a joy to be around and always looked for ways to help everyone.

 

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Adell Collins and two infant sons.

 

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ronald Hales; a daughter and son-in-law, Suellen and John Phillips; a son, Jerry Scott Hales; four grandchildren, Garrett, Hannah, Jared, and Katie Phillips; a sister, Betty (Jon) Paulding; a brother, Frank (Sheila) Collins; many nieces and nephews.
