Mrs. Gertrude Elizabeth Snyder, age 89, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her residence. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Mark Koscis officiating and Kendall Glover directing.  The family will be receiving visitors at Trinity Lutheran Church prior to service from 10:00 to 10:45.   Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 105 Luther Way, Dothan, Alabama, 36301.

Mrs. Snyder was born in the Panama Canal Zone on March 30, 1927 the daughter of Adam and Ruby Szabo.  She graduated from Balboa High School in 1945.  She worked as an account clerk at Corozal Army commissary and Rodman Naval station.  She married Lt. James Snyder on March 16, 1949 at the Fort Clayton chapel.  She moved to Dothan in 1979 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran church from 1981 and took part in numerous church activities. 

Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters:  Ellen Shirer and Esther Pederson; and her husband in 1997.

Mrs. Snyder is survived by her two sons:  Frank Snyder, Millbrook, Alabama and James Snyder, Jr. (Jaesil) of El Paso, Texas and one grandchild.
