Mrs. Gwendolyn Rice, age 68, of Ashford, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017.

 

Mrs. Rice was born September 15, 1948 to the late James Turner and Ollie V. Turner. She was an active member of Cowarts Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Rice enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters Lilly and Olivia.

 

She is preceded in death by her sister, Doris Lavern Knight; brothers, Horace Eugene Turner and Jerry Ralph Turner. 

 

Survivors include Husband, Marvette Rice of Ashford; step-sons, Chad Rice, Shawn Rice (Marla), Jonathan Rice (Mandee), Derrick Rice, all of Ashford, Marty Brunson ( Brenda) of Ashford; daughter-in-law, Emma Rice of Ashford, sister, Martha Jean Jones of Ashford; brother, James W. Turner (Sherie) of Okeechobee, FL.; grandchildren, Andrew, Colby, Lilly, and Olivia Rice, Amanda York (Drew), Jeremy Brunson; nephews, David and Phillip Jones; niece, Phoebe Boyd;  great- nephew,  Josh Jones, and great- nieces, Baileigh and Taylor Jones.

 

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Franklin Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Ashford City Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friend at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

 

The family will be accepting flowers.
