Katie Pearl Crews of Samson, Alabama passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at the age of 88.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Piney Grove United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, Alabama directing.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until funeral service time.

Katie was born April 25, 1930 in Geneva County Alabama to the late William Lee and Ada Bell Holley Crews. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was an avid gardener, and loved her daylilies. She was also a dedicated and faithful member of the Piney Grove UMC, and was an excellent cook.  She retired from Geneva County Alabama, where she was the Chief Clerk in the Probate Office.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; Albert Ray Crews; three brothers; Bud, Cat and Dee Crews and one sister; Mary Lee Davis.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Piney Grove UMC, c/o Kate Strickland, 108 S. Broad St. Samson, AL 36477.

Survived by one daughter; Janet C. Faulk (Danny Frank) Opp, Alabama and two sons; Melvin Ray “Sonny” Crews (Merri) Dade City, Florida and Terry Lynn Crews (Jean) Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one brother Fox Crews (Nome) Samson, Alabama.
