Mrs. Lunita McCormick Nevels of Geneva, Alabama, passed away December 15, 2017, at the age of 78.

Funeral service will be Monday December 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Murray Kelley officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Warren Holloway Ward funeral home directing.  Visitation will be Monday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. until funeral time in the chapel.

Mrs. Nevels was born August 4, 1939 in Florida to the late Walt and Ruth Holman McCormick.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.  She enjoyed playing her guitar, singing, gardening and her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Judy Thomas and Pennie Jackson, her siblings, William McCormick, Lillian McMillan, Lily Spears, Lila Evans and Lola Brackin.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Nevels, three daughters; Tracy (Darryl) Hendrix, of Birmingham, Alabama, Deadra Lambert, and Shana (Carl) Holloway of Geneva, Alabama, two sons; Ross Nevels, Samson, Alabama and Richard Nevels, Enterprise, Alabama.  Two brothers; Wilmer McCormick and Walt McCormick Jr. of Darlington, Florida.  Nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
