Mrs. Maedell Summers White, age 102, died early Sunday July 30, 2017 at Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 3, 2017 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harold Tyus officiating.  Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to services on Thursday at Glover Funeral Home.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Evangel Assembly of God Church, 836 W. Selma Street, Dothan, AL, 36301.

Mrs. White was born on January 12, 1915 in Dale County the daughter of Charlie B. and Maggie Taylor Summers.  She was a lifelong homemaker and was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church in Dothan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 75 years, Durl “Shine” Wright White; daughter, Janice Faye “Bitsy” Logan; 4 sisters, Willie Hartzog, Cleo Hammock, Ruth Doswell and Virginia Summers; 5 brothers, Adolph, Sam, Lunnie, Robert and Jesse Summers.

Survivors include: daughter, Rosemary Williams (Claude), Dothan; 3 grandchildren, Tim (Jeni) Logan, Dothan; Rick (Sonya) Glaze, Warrior; Alan Glaze, Hoover; 6 great-grandchildren, Rachal Logan, Chelsey (Justin) Hammond, Ryan Glaze, Rebecca Glaze, Alanna Glaze and Xavier Glaze.
