Mrs. Margie Helms Henderson, age 78, of Dothan passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at Signature Health Care in Graceville.
Born March 24, 1938 to the late Fletcher A. and Cola Davis Helms, Margie was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. She had a servant’s heart and enjoyed serving others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Henderson and a brother, Wayne Helms.
She is survived by her husband, Lenard M. Henderson; her daughters, Shelia (Kevin) Fuller and Sheryl Phillips; her son, Ricky Henderson; her sisters, Nadine Knight and Pansy Knight; her grandchildren, Jaclyn (Paul) Marasco, Christopher Henderson, Katie Nichols, Jessica Henderson, Mara Phillips, Megan Phillips, Mallorie Phillips, Matthew Phillips, and Sandra Kaye Fuller, six great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, January 9, 2017 from Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Anderson and Reverend Bradley Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until 4 PM, Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be accepting flowers.
