Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL

Mrs. Mary Catherine Chapman Nolin, 93, of Newton, died Friday, January 26, 2018, at her home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 28, 2018, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Tommy Giddens officiating. Interment will follow in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Sunday one hour prior to service time.

Mrs. Nolin was born June 14, 1924 in Dale County to the late William Thomas Chapman and Ebbie Frances Edmonds Chapman.  She worked for many years in Florida packaging oranges for sales. Mrs. Nolin loved to quilt and enjoyed various crafts.  She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her great-great grandchildren, and her great-great-great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Nolin; three brothers, Johnny Chapman, Hubert Chapman, and Samuel Chapman; one sister, Buner Frances Chapman; one great-great granddaughter, Jennifer Nicole Watson.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Hershel Creamer of Newton, Elizabeth and Sammy Watson of Newton; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Evelyn Chapman of Pinckard.  Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, twenty-three great-great grandchildren, and four great-great-great grandchildren also survive.
