Mary Catherine Spann, 76 of Dothan, beloved wife, sister, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, surrounded by her loving sisters, great niece and friend.

 

Memorial services for Cathy will be held at11 AM Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with April Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to CBU Cares Inc. (Cancer Busters United), 8818 St Andrews Drive, Miramar Beach, Florida 32550 or Dothan Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund, PO Box 1887, Dothan, AL 36302.

 

Mary Catherine was born August 12, 1940 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Felton C. and Lily Irene Lawrence Catrett. She was a 22 year member of the Dothan Elks Lodge 1887 and the first lady member initiated into the lodge and served several years as a trustee.

 

Cathy is survived by her siblings, Jack L. Catrett, Texas, Ethel (Quincy) Simpler, Dothan, Henry (Charlotte) Catrett, Pensacola, FL, Judy Catrett Sheridan, Destin, FL, Shirley Catrett Robinson, Dothan; aunt, Louise Tomlin, Luverne, AL; sister in law, Nelda Catrett, Dothan; brother in law, Frank Koontz, Lillian, AL; nieces and nephews, Gail Catrett Murphy, Doug (Ann) Butler, Randy Butler, Bronson (Erica) Butler, Henry Catrett, Lisa Synol, Salean Wood, Teresa Brady, Robert (Summer) Koontz, Amanda (Joe) Comer, Tim (Jenni) Koontz, Randy (Connie) Koontz, Ken (Ellie) Koontz; 25 great nieces and nephews and numerous much loved cousins.
