Mrs. Mary (Farris) Lewis, a loving wife and mother, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016. She was 77.

 

Born May 19, 1939 in Elba, AL. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church since 1975 and before having many health problems she worked in the children’s nursery; while also serving on several committees. Mary worked as a telephone operator in Montgomery after graduating from Kinston High school. She was married for 58 years and traveled to several different states plus Germany and Spain when her husband was transferred to these locations.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and one nephew.

 

She is survived by her husband, Donald Lewis, one son, Richard Lewis ( Diane) of Fort Myers, FL; one daughter, Vicky Johnson of Tulsa, OK; three granddaughters and two grandsons; also several cousins, one niece, and two nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Grandstaff and Reverend Billy Rich officiating with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Headland, AL.

 

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting contributions to be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund.
