Mrs. Mary Weakley Wash of Dothan died Sunday April 9, 2017.


 


Memorial service will be at 1:30 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Allie Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends a half hour prior to the service.


 


Mrs. Wash was born December 25, 1928 in Luray, VA. to the late Ernest Weakley and Flossie Pettit Weakley. Mary was a member of First Methodist Church of Dothan. She and her husband started Wash’s foods in 1954. She was Secretary and Treasury for thirty years until the business was sold in 1984. They retired to Sarasota, FL then moved to Dothan in 2007 to be near family.


 


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving son R.J. (Rick) Wash; sister, Jeaney Bobsin; three brothers, Virgel, Earnest, Garland; brother -in-law Ralph Bobsin and brother-in-law and Joseph Alsop.


 


Survivors include her husband of 63 years M.C.(Pete) Wash; sisters, Jackie Alsop, Linda Weakley, and Dottie (Randy) Thompson; brothers, Carrol (sandy), Jerry (Mary), and Ken (Bell); three grandchildren, Alaina, Chris, William; five great-grandchildren, Sydney, Maggie, Joey, Liam, Aidan. The greatest daughter-in-law one could have Mary W. Wash. And brother-in-law Norman (Barbara) Wash.


 


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church 1380 West Main St. Dothan, AL. 36301 or Covenant Hospice Care 5041 North 12th Avenue, Pensacola FL. 32504.
