Mrs. Nell Clark Helms, age 97, a resident of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Glover Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Jones and Dr. Ken Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Newton, AL with Kendall Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at Glover Funeral Home.

Mrs. Helms was born on October 7, 1920 in Dale County, the daughter of the late Buford Clark and Ella Aplin Clark. Nell worked in sales at the Before and After Ladies Clothing Store and later worked in sales with Helms Furniture Store. She was a member of the Honeysuckle Church of Christ. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Carol Penny, three brothers, John Clark, Charles Clark and Sheriff A.B. Clark, her sisters, Evelyn Daughtry and Inez Finn.

Survivors include: a son, Clark (Diane) Matthews, Dothan, AL; brother, Murray ( Sandra) Clark, Dothan, AL; a sister, Sue Lee, Dothan AL; sister-in-law, Runell Clark, Dothan, AL,; five grandchildren, Mark (Denise) Snellgrove, Derek Snellgrove, Kelli M. ( Kevin) Bakus, Dr. Ashley Matthews, Mekki M. (Cory) Klein; five great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

 Serving as active pallbearers will be:  Heath Lee, Larry Clark, Alan Clark, Austin Snellgrove, Craig Daughtry, Mickey Daughtry, Scott Clark, Cory Klein, Kevin Bakus and Chase Bakus.
