Mrs. Sandra K. Messer (Tabor) of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.  She was 72 years old.

Sandra was born on October 15th, 1944 to Quincy and Virginia Tabor in Columbus, Ohio and she was preceded in death by her father, mother and siblings, Savannah Stapleton of New Orleans, Louisiana, Arthur Smith of Dayton, Ohio, Bill Smith of Cowpens, South Carolina, and Juanita Craft of Kissimmee, Florida.  She is survived by her Husband George Messer of Dothan, Alabama, her son George David Messer (Michael Eggert) of Norfolk, Virginia, her daughter Melissa Messer Goddard (Michael) of Dothan, Alabama and two grandchildren, Justin and Lauren Kirkland (how proud she was of them) of Dothan, Alabama. One brother Ray Smith of Lake Wales, Florida and one sister, Ruth Jean Herzberger of Kissimmee, Florida including many cousins, nieces and nephews.

On December 30, 1963, she married George D. Messer. They were married for 52 years. For 22 of them they made their home in Dayton, Ohio, and then moved to Dothan, AL in 1987, where she proved over and over again what a wonderful cook, gardner, craft-maker, mother and grandmother she was.
