Obituary: Mrs. Sara Boan Syfrett Lewis


 


Mrs. Sara Boan Syfrett Lewis of Dothan went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 24, 2018 at her home.  She was 85.


 


Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Malvern Baptist Church with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottondale, FL with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.


 


The family will receive friends Wednesday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time.


 


Flowers will be accepted or the family requests that you honor Sara’s memory with your contribution to the Malvern Baptist Church Building Fund.


 


Mrs. Lewis was born October 17, 1932 in Jackson County Florida to the late Weldon and America Alford Boan.  Sara loved to travel, was a member of the Florida Campers on Mission Ministries and was a dedicated woman of faith.  She was a loving wife, adoring mother and grandmother who will be profoundly missed!


 


In addition to her parents, her first husband of 35 years and the father of her children, Ross Arnold Syfrett; two brothers and two sisters all preceded her in death.


 


Survivors include her husband, Joseph L. Lewis III, Dothan; children: Dale Syfrett Deese (Albert), Palm Harbor, FL, Donna Syfrett McDaniel (Stephen), Birmingham and Arnold Syfrett (Donna Faye), Taylor; step-children: Kathryn Lewis Register (Bill), Dothan, Kathleen Lewis Humphy, Dothan and Joseph Lee Lewis IV (Kimberly), Lynn Haven, FL; siblings, Reba Boan Harney, Toccoa, GA and Bill Boan (Carmen), Gainesville, FL; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.


 


The family would like to express their appreciation to the staffs of Kindred Hospice and FirstLight Home Care of the Wiregrass for their kindness and compassion as they cared for Sara.
