Ms. Essie Marie Rhoades Lundy, age 73, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018, at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle following a brief illness.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL, 36303.

Ms. Lundy was born in Opp, AL, on December 17, 1944, the daughter of John Campbell and Fannie Inez Lassiter Rhoades.  She was employed as a CNA at the Parthenon Nursing Home in Crestview, FL for over 10 years and was of the Assembly of God faith. 

In addition to her parents, Ms. Lundy was preceded in death by a brother Bobby; 4 sisters Margaret, Nadine, Ann and Maxine.

Survivors include a son Joseph (Joe) Lucius (Sandra) of Dothan; 2 daughters Celeste Welejski (Mike) of Dothan and Tracy Dimond (Kenny) of Geneva; 6 grandchildren Stephan Griesbauer, John Griesbauer, Chase Lucius, Caden Lucius, Kylie Welejski and Ellie Welejski; 2 great-grandchildren Lyla Griesbauer and Mia Griesbauer.
