Martha Sue McCardle, 71, passed away 10:53 a.m., Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Christian Hospital - Northeast in St. Louis County, surrounded by her family.


Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Glover Funeral Home with Reverend Wyatt Shiver officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ramah Church Cemetery in Cottonwood, AL with Kendall Glover directing.


The family will be receiving friends at Glover Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to Cottonwood Civic Club.


Martha was born in Dothan, AL on August 17, 1945 the daughter of Samuel and Johnnie Lou (Carter) Glover.


She married John Wesley "Cooter-Bug" McCardle on March 27, 1964 in Dothan, AL.  He died December 9, 2014.


Preceding in death were her parents; husband; and brother, Billy Glover.


Surviving are three sons, Eddie D. (Rebecca) McCardle of Camden, SC; John Stephen (Edith) McCardle of South Roxana, IL; Samuel B. (Michelle) McCardle of Maryville, IL; daughter, Cecelia McAley of Alhambra, IL; 10 grandchildren, Derek (Katie) McCardle, Angie (Will) Greenlee, Jeremy (Lexa) Pride, Allyson (Jeremy) Weber, Jessica (Ryan) Smith, Wes Gibbs, Samuel S. McAley, Kaitlyn McCardle, Ashton McCardle, Isabelle McCardle; four great grandchildren, Bryce Weber, Madison Voudrie, Grayson Greenlee, Karson Greenlee; brother, Bobby (Donna) Glover of Headland, AL; sister, Sara Dixon of Panama City, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
