Ms. Willie Ward Mitchell age 96 of Samson, Alabama died, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Opp Health and Rehabilitation in Covington County Alabama.

A Private funeral service will be held with the Rev. Sam Totten officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Mitchell was born December 13, 1919, to the late John Duncan and Martha Elizabeth Ward.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting and giving those she loved her handiwork. 

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph Mitchell, one daughter: Martha Elaine Mitchell Wise and one son and daughter-in-law, Herman Lavon and Patricia Mitchell, one great grandson Kyle, four brothers: I.B. Rass, Charles and Grady Ward, one sister Nade Bryant and one grandson-in-law Robert R. Crosby.

She is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, Hershell R. and Nancy Mitchell of Walters, Ok.

Thirteen grandchildren:  two grandchildren that were her life and saw that she never went without, Barbara M. Crosby and Debra Williams.  Michael Mitchell; Michelle Mitchell Pence; Steven Mitchell; Kenneth Mitchell; Christina Leisk; Carolyn Mitchell; Joseph Mitchell; Beata Simpson; Shawna Mitchell; Stacy Monroe and Randy Monroe.

Twenty-three great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.  Special great grandchildren: Cassy Cassady; Trevor Mitchell Crosby and Jeremy Williams (Jessica).
