NAN  CULPEPPER BRANNON


 


ABBEVILLE. . .Nan Culpepper Brannon, a resident of Abbeville, died Thursday night, June 14, 2018, in a Dothan hospital. She was 95.


            Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, June 17, 2018, in the Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Teddy Ward officiating and a eulogy to be given by Jimmy Money. Graveside services with follow in Gardens of Memory, near Headland, with Reverend Otis Derrah officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Alabama, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.     


            Mrs. Brannon was born in the Wills Crossroads Community of Henry County. She lived in various locations in the U. S. while her husband served in the U. S. Air Force. Mrs. Brannon lived in the Center Community, near Newville, from 1961 until 1994 when she moved to Abbeville. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Brannon was preceded in death by her husband, Olice Brannon, her father, Tullis Nordan Culpepper, her mother, Hattie Culpepper Espy, a sister, Mary Lucy Mobley, and five brothers, Hubert Culpepper, Everett Culpepper, Tom Ben Culpepper, Joe Culpepper and Herman Culpepper.


            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Dorothy Clements (Lamar), Newville; Betty Barnes (Bill), Abbeville; and Janet Cooley (David), Lynn Haven, FL; a brother, Bobby Joe Espy (Martha), Abbeville; five grandchildren, Stephanie Thompson (J.T.), Samantha Kelly (Wes), Rebekah Epps (Michael), Jeremy Barnes (Pam), and Jason Bryant (Jennifer); eleven great-grandchildren, Will Thompson, Reese Kelly, Cooper Kelly, Mary Kathryn Kelly, Thomas Epps, Carter Barnes, Jorja Barnes, Addie Barnes, Colton Bryant, Brady Bryant and Jackson Bryant.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Wes Kelly, Michael Epps, Jeremy Barnes, Carter Barnes, J. T. Thompson and Jason Bryant.
