Nellie V. Fain of Geneva went home to be with the LORD on Friday, September 8, 2017. She was 95 years old. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2017, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home with Rev. Elliott Parrish, officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Head Cemetery, Bonifay, Florida with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 1:00 PM.


Mrs. Fain was born in Dale County, Alabama on September 23, 1921, to the late Charles Oscar and Sara Elizabeth Sullviant. She was a longtime member of Devco Baptist Church in Geneva. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tullie Wyatt Fain of Geneva. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fishing.


She is survived by her daughters, Barbara and husband Hilburn Benton of Newton and Jeanne D. Thomas of Geneva; grandchildren, Felicia and husband Keith Little of Dothan, Alabama, Tonja and husband Michael Duke of Webb, Alabama, Bradley Thomas of Geneva, Alabama, Tanya Thomas of Dothan, Alabama; Great Grandchildren, Rev. Elliott Parrish of Newton, Alabama, Phillip Parrish of Dothan, Alabama, Justin Parrish of Ozark, Alabama, Matthew and Joshua Anderson of Auburn, Alabama; Two sisters, Rachel Thompson of Panama City, Florida and Christine Cantor of Geneva, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.


The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Donna Scott (in-home caregiver) and Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful care given to Granny during her illness.
