Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL

Mr. Larry T. Alums passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center after a brief illness.  He was 64 years old.

Funeral Services will be ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Dr. Dennis Coe and Mr. Jerry Eddins officiating. A private interment for the family only will follow in Ariton Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home in Ozark from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

 Larry spent his career teaching and coaching in Dale County and Dothan City Schools.  He served as Dothan City School Director of Transportation prior to his retirement in 2013.  He continued to teach Driver’s Education privately until his death.  Larry was an avid Alabama Fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Oree Alums and Jimmie Lou Thompson Alums.  He is survived by his wife, Debra; daughter, Vantney; and adored granddaughter, Hatton.
