Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations – Ozark, AL


 


Mr. Quinn Cawthon “QC” Moorehead, 90, of Ozark, died Monday, July 31, 2017, at his home.


Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Jean Smith and Reverend Tom Skeen officiating.  Interment will follow in Mabson Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home in Ozark from 1:00 P. M. until service time.


Mr. Moorehead was born November 4, 1926 in Blue Springs, Alabama to the late Robert Otto “Tot” Moorehead and Etta Monk Moorehead.  He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II in Germany from 1945 until 1947.  Following his military service, he worked with Civil Service at Fort Rucker as a Warehouse Manager.  In his younger years, Mr. Moorehead enjoyed playing baseball and later enjoyed coaching the game. He was a volunteer custodian for many years at Mabson Cemetery. He loved gospel music, and enjoyed fishing and gardening.  He was not a fast man, not built for speed but for comfort.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Betty Jane Heath Moorehead; his son, Tommy Ray Moorehead; two sisters, Inez West and Odessa Campbell.


Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bob Leaman and Dennie Moorehead of Skipperville; daughter-in-law, Marsha Stewart Moorehead of Auburn; one sister, Eloise Grimes of Tampa; one granddaughter, Abby Moorehead Kuhn (Sam); one grandson, Heath (India) Moorehead; one great granddaughter, Quinn C. Kuhn; one great grandson, Hollen J. Kuhn.  Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mabson Cemetery, C/O Mr. Tommie Spurlock, 401 South County Road 20, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
