Obituary from Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark



Mrs. Carolyn Peters Allen, 73, of Ariton, died Thursday, June 29, 2017, at her home.


Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Sunday, July 2, 2017, from Post Oak Baptist Church with Reverend Matthew Wright officiating.  Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.


Mrs. Allen was born August 24, 1943 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Foy Randolph Peters and Lera Inez Powell Peters.  She worked with Hudson Industries in Troy for twenty-six years and later with Wal-Mart until her retirement. Mrs. Allen was an avid recipe and cook book collector.  She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She attended Post Oak Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Edward Allen; and her daughter, Lecia Carolyn Schramm; and one brother, Leamon Ross Peters.


Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kendall and Tami Allen of Ariton; five grandchildren, Candice Hales (Will), Corey Schramm, Collin Schramm, Jared Peters, and Tiffany Page; four great grandchildren, Landry Hales, Ledger Hales, Jaxson Page, and Trevor McLaughlin; one brother, Charles Melvin Peters of Ozark.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Post Oak Baptist Church Mission Fund, 4108 North Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
