Mrs. Virgiline Elnita “Kitty” White Simpson, 84, of Skipperville, died Saturday, September 2, 2017, at her home.



A memorial service for Mrs. Simpson will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 10, 2017, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with her son, Steve Simpson, and Reverend Freddie McCain officiating.



Mrs. Simpson was born November 24, 1932 in Lexington, Alabama to the late Andrew Lawrence White and Arnie Belle Varnell White. She met and married the love of her life Ambris Simpson on December 9, 1947, and they were married for sixty-eight years until his death.  Mrs. Simpson attended Peniel Baptist Church. She loved to cook, sew, read, and complete cross-word puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ambris Frankie Simpson; two sisters, Judy Moon and Deborah White.



Survivors include her children, Maleia Reynolds (Chris) of Skipperville, Steve Simpson (Jennifer) of Auburn, Scott Simpson (Diana) of Panama City, Lisa Payne (Mike) of Skipperville; grandchildren, John Lockwood (Jenna), Jason Reynolds, Jennifer Simpson, Amanda Sewell (TJ), Haley Simpson, Emily Simpson, Ashley Simpson, Christine Simpson, Zach Payne (Elizabeth Peyregne), and Savanna Payne; six great grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Wilson of Huntsville, and one brother, Hoyt White of Gulfport, Mississippi.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2710 County Road 41, Skipperville, Alabama 36374.
