Oscar Ed Bell, a resident of Midland City, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at his residence. He was 82.


Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Dr. Max McKinney and Rev. Jimmy Moore officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1-2:30 p.m.


Mr. Bell was born on October 14, 1935 in Coffee County in the Enterprise, Alabama area to the late Rev. Ewell and Allie Mae Bell. He retired from Civil Service, Ft. Rucker, Alabama with 34 years of service. Mr. Bell formerly owned and operated Ed Bell Enterprises, Satellite Services in Grimes, Alabama. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Mt. Zion A/G Church.


Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Ewell and Allie Mae Bell, and his two sisters, Miriam Hanson and Brenda Rahaneotis.


Mr. Bell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Dot) Bell of Grimes, AL; his two daughters, Tawanna Hall and Beverly (Tyler) Wyndham of Panama City Beach, FL; his granddaughter, Serah Ann Hall of Ashford, AL; and his brother, Gerald Bell of Dothan, AL.
