MIDLAND CITY…Perry Thomas Stevens, a resident of the Christian Hill Community, between Echo and Midland City, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday morning, December 4, 2017, in the UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham. He was 59.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 7, 2017, in Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Miller and Reverend Joey Pettis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 715, Midland City, AL 36350.


            Perry Stevens was a lifelong resident of the Christian Hill Community of Dale County, son of the late Reverend Perry Earl Stevens and Eunice Tidwell Stevens. He was a 1976 graduate of the Dale County High School. Perry was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for thirty-eight years and was active in most church activities and mission trips. He was retired from Pemco World Air Services at Napier Field after thirty-five years employment. Perry was an avid Alabama football fan. He served the Dale County Athletic Programs for many years in various capacities, including assistant softball coach and booster club President.


            Surviving relatives include his wife of forty-two years, Linda Culpepper Stevens; a daughter, Carrie Stevens, Dothan; two sons, Tommy Stevens (Stephanie), Midland City; Michael Stevens (Alana), Ashford; three grandchildren, John Stevens, Jeff Stevens and Preston Stevens; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Loretta Culpepper; a brother-in-law, William Culpepper (Tammy); several aunts and uncles, including, Niria Ammons and Bill Stevens (Orlinda); two nieces, Beth Miller and Michelle McAdams.
