QUENTIN  DWAYNE  SANDS

SLOCOMB. . .Quentin Dwayne Sands, a resident of Slocomb, went to Heaven  late Friday night, February 23, 2018. He was 47.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Robert B. Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation, S.E. Alabama Chapter, P.O. Box 12505, Birmingham, AL or to the Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, AL 36302.

            Quentin Sands was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Dothan as a child. He was a graduate of Slocomb High School. Quentin was formerly employed as a Kitchen/Cabinet Specialist with Lowe’s in Dothan.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Melinda Earnest Sands, Slocomb; his father, Kenneth C. “Pete” Sands, Dothan; his mother, Janet Halford and step-father, Jerry Halford, Livingston, Texas; two brothers, Jeff Sands (Amy), Huntsville, AL; and Kenny Sands (Jennifer), Ashville, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jason Kirkland, Travis Tindell, Rusty Hatton, Ken Hughes, Bobby Keel, Bryan Hatton and Ashley Avery.
