Randall Gerald Layton,61, a resident of Dothan, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday November 11, 2016.

Randy was born in Donalsonville, Ga. on May 9, 1955 to Jessie Roscoe Layton and Minnie Irene Johnson Layton; they were a resident of the Mayhaw community on the Pierce Sheffield Farm. He was the 8^th child in the family of 5 boys and 4 girls and moved with his family at 6 months of age to the Gordon/Harmon area. He graduated from Ashford High School, then served in the U.S. Airforce in Japan 1973-1974.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, older sister Jessie Merle Hatcher and nephew Brent Gaylord.

Leaving behind to cherish his memory are siblings, Willie “Buddy” Layton (Lee), of Enterprise; Jeanette Gaylord, of Cowarts; Annette “Lisa” Barbarossa (Raymond), of Simi Valley, Ca.; Herman Layton (Enri) of Seville, Spain; Sterling Layton (Melva), of Byron, Ga.; Jerry Layton (Karen), of Ashford and Winona Gray (Ricky), of Montgomery; a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong friend Ricky Whitehurst.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
