Rebecca Jean Joyce Thomason died in her home on Friday, February 16, 2018. She was 78 years old. She is in the arms of Jesus as He has taken her home.



Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 19, 2018 in the Ozark Presbyterian Church with Pastor Frank Ellis and Reverend John D. Reese, III officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Ozark. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:00 A.M. in the church sanctuary. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Becky was born in Henry County Virginia on April 14, 1939 to Eva and James Joyce. She attended Drewry Mason High school and graduated in 1957. She worked in several administrative offices in Martinsville Va. She was one of the first certified computer programmers for Burris Computer Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Eva Joyce.



She is survived by her husband, Fred M Thomason, of Ozark, Al, her daughter Jeanine T Heilman, of Boca Raton, Fl, her granddaughter Meagan Heilman, of Blacksburg, Va, her sister, Margaret Worley , of Matthews, NC and many nieces and nephews.
The couple lived in Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Brazil, Indonesia, Texas, and Alabama. Becky was very active in her church and community, serving as a Girl Scout leader and on many church committees. She was a caring and benevolent Christian who served the Lord until her death. She was always mindful of the needs of others.


Serving as active pallbearers will be Matt Hamm, James McCready, Ernie Freeman, Barrett Gilbreth, Robert Baird, and Michael Vines.



The family would like to thank Dr Stephen Sanders, the nurses from the Dale County hospital, home health, and hospice.  A special thanks to her in home caregivers, Katie Faulk, Clara McCready, Kayla English, James McCready, and Matt Hamm.
