Renee Leddon of Ashford, AL went on to be with her Lord on Friday, January 20, 2017. She was 70.

Mrs. Renee Leddon of Ashford, Alabama departed this life for her Heavenly home on January 20, 2017. Renee was a worker, always ready and willing to help when work was to be done. She did not stand back but always seemed happiest when she was working. Renee was not hesitant to say to others “I love you” and when she said that, she loved that person. She also loved animals and took care of them to the best of her ability. A member of wayside Baptist Church, her faith was strong and she did not hesitate to share her faith in our Lord with others. Renee never complained, not even in the tough times when her health declined. She had a smile for almost everyone she met and her smile was genuinely loved God first and then her family, friends and even those she did not know personally. Her faith was evident in comments she made such as “we have to love God more than we love each other” and “God put us together” referring to her husband. She loved her family dearly.

Renee is not restricted now by health issues. Those of us left behind can only look forward, one day, to being with her again, eternally. That will be a great joy to be with her in the presence of God and all those we love have gone on before us. Renee was strong and had an endurance, hardly ever seen, to overcome seemingly impossible odds.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister (Sonia), a brother (Wilburn), a brother in law (Doug) and other relatives.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tom, her daughter (Carol), her son in law (Gary) and her grandchildren (Jordan and Sean), a brother (Robert) and his wife (Sara), sisters in law (Myrl and Christine) and their husband (Doug and Roy) and a brother in law (Milton) and his wife (Althea), as well as several nieces and nephews.

With Renee’s departure, Satan is again a loser. That low life no longer has a grip on Renee! Renee is in the presence of Jesus now, and Satan can’t come near her!

Funeral services for Renee will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 2PM from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 5-7 PM.

Family is accepting flowers or donations can be made to the local Animal Shelter.
