Retia J. Hataway of Elba passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Flowers Hospital.  She was 50.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Dewey Enfinger and Rev. Bobby Hataway officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

 

Retia was born November 15, 1966, in Covington County.  She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland James Miller Sr. and Gladys Scott Miller; a niece, Alice Lewis; brother-in-law, Doyle Slaughter.

 

Survivors include her husband, L.C. Hataway of Elba; son, Josh Hataway of Elba; daughter, Nicole Hataway of Elba; parents-in-law, James and Jane Hataway of Elba; two sisters, Vicki Colby (Dale) of Bonifay, FL and Valda Slaughter of Dothan; brother, Roland James Miller Jr. (Angela) of Geneva.

 

The family will gather at the home of James and Jane Hataway, 9738 Hwy 134, Elba.
