Rev. Rudolph H. Clark of Slocomb, AL passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home. He was 87.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at The First United Pentecostal Church in Geneva with Rev. Stan Davidson, Rev. Joe Patterson, Rev. Carlos Clark, and Rev. John Pounders officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Acres Cemetery in Opp with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.


Rev. Clark was born in Houston County, AL on September 8, 1930 to the late Alpha Omega “A.O.” and Goldie Carter Clark. Rev. Clark was the founder and pastor of The First United Pentecostal Church in Geneva, having served there for 50 years. His ministry and service to the Lord was his life. Through prayer and dedication, he set the example for his family and his church. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.  He retired from Ft. Rucker after 32 years as a ground mechanic.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucile Robbins Clark; three sons, Paul and Larry Clark and an infant son; two brothers, Rex and Arlen Clark; two sisters, Gladys Anderson and Montez Spears.


He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lanette Clark of Slocomb;  one son, Rev. Carlos Clark (Sheila) of Geneva; daughter-in-law, Gayle Clark of Slocomb; step- children, Dianne Herring of Headland, Grady Smith (Diane) of Graceville, FL, Danny Smith (Melita) of Slocomb, Sarah Phillips (Charlie) of Headland; 11 grandchildren, Misty and Amy Clark; Melissa Hendrick (Rev. Stephen), Jessica “J.J”. Clark, Deanna Beck (Greg), Dalisha Herring, Shannon Holton (Brian), Brian Smith (Miranda), Lauren Chandler (Ed), Eve Baltzell (Ian), John Allen Phillips (Denise); eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Dolin Clark (Naoma) of Opp; one sister, Pat Thrash of Tampa, FL; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
