Rex Warren, USAF, Ret. of Slocomb, AL passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Troy, AL. He was 89.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with a USAF Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow with full military rites at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and will continue until service time.

Mr. Warren was born in Geneva County, AL on September 10, 1927 to the late Clant Oneal and Jewel Mae Brown Warren. Mr. Warren retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of faithful service to his country. Mr. Warren loved being in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was widely known for his ability to make wonderful deer sausage.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Rex Warren; granddaughter, Crystal Brook Warren; two brothers, Charles and Carl Warren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Hilda F. Warren of Slocomb, AL; one sister, Patsy Ann Warren Keller (Richard “Dick”) of Bellwood, AL; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
