Richard Hunter Ellis, Jr., died peacefully in his home on March 9, 2018 in Midland City, AL, at the age of 83.


Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon Ellis; Sister, Dee Enger; children, Karen Suggs, Sarina Cogburn, Chrystal Tran, Jerri Lynn Davis and Tina Sanders. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 1 niece & 2 nephews, of the tristate area.


He is preceded in death by a brother, Cary Ellis, daughter, Debra Wooten, and grand-daughter Candice Barnes, of Alabama & Florida .


Richard was born on May 25, 1934 in Pensacola FL to Richard Ellis Sr and Dorothy Elizabeth Marsh.


Richard was a Marine right after high school and retired from Georgia Pacific paper mill after 34 years of employment.


He was a great father and loved by many people. Richard was a man of his word and lived a long life putting others before himself. He took care of his family & friends, always making sure they were provided for.


He will be dearly missed. We love you Grandaddy.
