Rita Sue Farver, of Daleville, AL (formerly of Sylvania, AL), was born on September 16, 1952 and passed away at home on September 7, 2018. She was 65.

 

Visitation for friends and family will be at 9 am followed by a funeral service at 10 am at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise, AL on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Graveside services will be at 5 pm in Sylvania, AL at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, W. T. Graden and Reba Graden; her sister, Doris Young; and nieces, Mitzi Hopkins and Jackie Rosa.

 

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, William (Bill) Farver, Jr.; 2 daughters: Dr. Suzanne Farver Lukjan and Amy Rae Farver; 4 grandchildren: Presley, Amelia, Miles, and Andrew; niece: Cindy Smallwood, and other extended family.

 

Rita was a life-long learner who last attended the University of West Florida in pursuit of a doctorate in Education. She was an educator with the teaching philosophy of using “hands on learning” to invest in students of all ages from kindergarten to college over a span of almost 40 years. Rita taught at Henagar, Ider, and Windham (Daleville) Elementary schools as well as Troy University and Enterprise State Community College. She was also a proud owner of Tots USA, Inc., a childcare facility formerly in Daleville, Enterprise, and Dothan. Her legacy will be honored for years to come as she delivered the best education possible to many young minds throughout her career. She will be missed by her family, friends, and students. She was an amazing woman with an exceptional teaching ability and a strong faith in God. Rita Sue will always be remembered for her outgoing and vibrant personality; however, her true loving nature was exemplified in her treasured roles as a wife and mother.
