ROBERT  MURRY  HOLLOWAY

ABBEVILLE. . .Robert Murry Holloway, a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday afternoon, February 17, 2018, in Dogwood Manor Assisted Living in Abbeville. He was 93.

            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in the Dothan City Cemetery with Johnny Kelly officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church “Building Fund”, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36301.

            Mr. Holloway was born and reared in Dothan, son of the late Harvey M. Holloway and Mary Belle Willis Holloway. He was a 1942 graduate of Dothan High School and received a B.S. Degree in Education from Troy University. Mr. Holloway served his country in the U. S. Army in the Pacific during World War II.  He was a former resident of Dothan, Albany, Lilburn, GA and Eufaula before moving to Abbeville. Mr. Holloway was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eufaula and was a charter member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan. He was a former member of the Rotary Club and Exchange Club in Albany, GA. Mr. Holloway retired as District Manager with the Social Security Administration in Albany, GA.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Bernice Perry Holloway, Abbeville; two daughters, Joyce Holloway Stone, Duluth, GA; and Karen Holloway Ross (Jeff), Abbeville; a grandson, Mitchell Stone (Nicole), two sisters, Virginia Black, Florence, AL; and Betty Kelly (Johnny), Headland.
