ABBEVILLE. . .Robert Waymon McCoy, a resident of Abbeville, died Wednesday night, March 29, 2017, in a Dothan hospital. He was 70.


            Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 1, 2017, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Henry Fullington officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in the Capps Community. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.


            Mr. McCoy was born and reared in Henry County, son of the late Daniel Albert McCoy and Georgia Pearl Arnold McCoy. He lived in Abbeville most of his adult lifetime. Mr. McCoy was formerly employed by Jesco Construction Co. as a Superintendent. He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd McCoy.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Karla McCoy Calhoun, Abbeville; three sons, Bobby McCoy (Karmen), Newville; and Darron McCoy, Abbeville; and Jess McCoy (Amber), Newville; four brothers, Jack McCoy,  Harold McCoy (Lois), Billy McCoy (Libby), and Louie McCoy (Joyce), all of Abbeville; a sister-in-law, Dot McCoy Long, Blue Springs; six grandchildren, Jenna Calhoun, Travis Calhoun (Savannah), Mallory Oates, Faith McCoy, Landon McCoy, and Jami McCoy; two great-grandchildren, Hadley Barnes and Bentley Calhoun.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jeff McCoy, Michael Calhoun, Travis Calhoun, Justin Money, Chesley Wilson and Markus Sipp.
