Tony Douglas a resident of Kinsey died late Saturday afternoon August 11, 2018 at his home after an extended illness.  He was 73.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in the Kinsey Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Hardy and Rev. Michael Douglas his nephew officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Family First Funeral Care directing.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the church sanctuary.  Serving as active pallbearers will be Chris Cable, Buster Holloway, Justin Holloway, Benjamin Holloway, Dustin Leger and Jeff Moseley.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the John Ellenburg Sunday School Class of Kinsey Baptist Church.


Mr. Douglas was born in Kinsey on August 7, 1945 on the same home place where he died, son of the late Troy A. Douglas and Ola Lee Kelly Douglas. Tony had lived in the Kinsey area all his life and retired after a 36-year career with the Chattahoochee Industrial Rail Road as a locomotive mechanic.  Tony was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church.  Mr. Douglas was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.


Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years Laura Jeanette Douglas of Kinsey, 2 sons Duane Douglas of Dothan and Ronald (Hazel) Brackin of Tampa, FL 2 daughters Lori (Buster) Holloway of Dothan and Peggy (Jeff) Moseley of Kinsey, 2 brothers M.C. Douglas (Sarah) Douglas and Jerry Douglas both of Kinsey, 8 grandchildren Dustin Leger of Kinsey, Amber Wright (Jason) of Crestview, FL Brooke Douglas, Whitney Cable (Chris) both of Dothan, Joe Brackin (Candy) and April Sessa both of Tampa, Justin Holloway of Birmingham, Benjamin Holloway of Auburn University, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
