Russell Eugene Brown of Geneva entered into eternal rest surrounded by his devoted children and other family members on Friday, June 22, 2018. He was 75 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Hauser officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Brown was born on January 15, 1943 in Rocky Head, AL to the late Melvin and Myrl Simmons Brown. Mr. Brown worked for many years at Benson Wholesale which later became Fleming Foods. He and Linda were two months shy of being married for 40 years at the time of her passing. Mr. Brown was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. Affectionately referred to as “Pop” he was adored by his grandchildren.      

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Alendia G. “Linda” Brown; brother-in-law, Ed Lindsey; sister-in-law, Vickey Lindsey; and niece, Zann Mitchell.

He is survived by one son, Stephen Brown (Joette) of Jasper, AL; one daughter, Leigh Brown Foster (Brad) of Auburn, AL; four grandchildren, Kelley Brooke Brown, Simms Brown, Olivia Foster, and Brooks Foster; one brother, Rodney Brown (Kay) of Cantonment, FL; sister-in-law, Shay Lindsey of Geneva; and many special nephews.
