Samuel Wyatt Moore of County Road 514, Elba went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, February 22, 2017 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 81.


 


Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Friday, February 24, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Rev. Lane Harris officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time.


 


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.


 


Mr. Moore was born March 30, 1935, in Coffee County, to the late Clyde and Ruth Reeves Moore.  He was of the Baptist Faith.  He worked as an independent contractor in the laying of ceramic tile until his retirement.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.


 


In addition to his parents, his son, Jason Moore, and sister, Betty Dyess preceded him in death.


 


Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Grace Thomas Moore of Elba; two sons: Thomas Moore (Jan) of Elba and Stanley Moore of Birmingham; three brothers: Billy Moore of Dothan, Larry Moore of Mobile, and Mixon Moore of Opp; a sister, Judy Ryan (Willie) of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren: Kaley Moore, Katherine Grace Moore, Wyatt Moore, and Harrison Moore; many nieces and nephews.
