Sara Frances Meredith Cannon, 90, of 295 Ft. Gaines Street, Blakely, GA 39823 passed away, April 21, 2017, at the Pioneer Community Hospital of Early. Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Estes officiating with Dr. Alex Howell assisting. Pallbearers will be Tony Meredith, Phillip NeSmith, Chase Dickerson, Garlin Evans, Shawn Smith and Mike Temples. The family will receive friends for visitation starting at 10 AM Monday morning.


Mrs. Cannon was born on June 2, 1926 in Colquitt, GA to the late William Edward Meredith and Martha Jane Newberry Meredith. Sara was an inspector for Brew-Apparel Manufacturing Company of Blakely and a member of Zion Freewill Baptist Church. Other than her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband; Ras Cannon, a son, Carl Ras Cannon, one sister; Ruth Weaver, five brothers; William Edward Meredith, Jr., Thomas Meredith, Sigo Meredith, Eugene Meredith and Bobby Meredith.


Her survivors include one daughter-in-law; Donna R. Cannon of Dothan, AL, one Grandson, Donald Ras Cannon and wife Lisa of Panama City, FL, three Great-grandchildren; Mellisa Webb, Dothan, AL, Tracy Dickerson and Chase of Ashford, AL, Larry Cotton,lII, Headland, AL and three Great-Great grandchildren; Trinity Webb, Lee Webb both of Dothan, AL, and Zola Dickerson of Ashford, AL and several nieces and nephews.


A special thanks to her nephew James Weaver and his wife Rhonda.
