Seabern Wooten, a resident of Anderson, SC, (formerly of Headland and Enterprise) passed away on Monday April 23, 2018 at the Anmed Health Medical Center in Anderson, South Caroliina. He was 76. 


Funeral services were held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday April 26, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Hurte and Mike Looney officiating. Interment, with military honors, followed in MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Wooten, son of the late Dennie and Merle Mays Wooten, was born in Greenville, Texas. He was a 1960 Graduate of Headland High School and was a graduate of Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Wooten lived in Florida and South Carolina before moving to Enterprise in 1981. He served as a Southern Baptist Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Woodland Grove Baptist Church, and Cool Springs Baptist Church while living in Enterprise. Mr. Wooten was retired from AIG Insurance Company as a debit manager in South Carolina and Dothan.  He returned to Anderson, South Carolina in 2009. Mr. Wooten served his country in the United States Air Force and was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Dingman.



Surviving relatives include his wife,  Joann Sims Wooten; two daughters,  Marty Looney (Mark), Lucy Dingman; a son, Dennie Wooten (Pat); two sisters: Martha McLeroy and Nita Folger (David), seven grandchildren,  Elizabeth Cranford (Jason), Jacqui Grant (Steve), Lee Wooten (Whitney), Rebecca Shaw (Justin), Angie Looney, Tara Bowers (Carl), Meagan Baker (Josh); nine great-grandchildren: Tyler Grant, Xander Scoggins, Parker and Alivia Baker, Trace Bowers, Addy, Kendall, Jake and Judah Shaw; as well as his precious dog: Laney.
