Mrs. Shirley Brown, age 81 of Pansey passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at her home under the care of Covenant Hospice, following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley will be held at 2PM Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Coley Myer Holloway and Reverend James Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service time at the church.

Mrs. Shirley was born in Cottonwood on October 3, 1936 to the late Marion Lonnie Sasser and Vicie Lee Hinson Sasser. She lived most all of her life in Houston County, other than the time she spent traveling the country with her late husband, Thomas Seaborn Brown, who was in the United States Navy. Mrs. Shirley loved to spend time with her family and will be missed for her laughter and entertaining that she did. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and was known as quite the good cook. She was also a longtime member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she attended the Golden Elders Sunday School class.

Mrs. Shirley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike Hester of Ashford; two granddaughters, Laura Hester Walker of Mobile and Hollie Hester Stringfellow of Chunchula; seven great grandsons and a sister, Audrey Skoglund of Dothan.
