HEADLAND. . .Shirley Snellgrove Ellison, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at her home west of Headland.  She was 71.

            A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 22, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Roy Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. Friday until service time.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harvest Church Children’s Program, 2727 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36305.

            Ms. Ellison was born in Webb, Alabama, the only child of Mary Snellgrove The family spent most of their life in Headland where Shirley attended high school. Ms. Ellison worked at Dothan Manufacturing Company in Dothan for twenty-five years until it closed. Then she worked the last sixteen years at the Alfred Saliba Family Services with the Head Start Program. At the same time for the last twenty years, she worked at Harvest Church in the nursery on Wednesday night and Sunday morning. Shirley was an active member of Harvest Church.

            Surviving relatives include a son, James Michael Ellison (Sheryl), Madrid; two daughters, Sherrie Ellison Brannen, Napier Field; and Michelle Ellison, Headland; seven grandchildren, Danielle Solly (Eddie), Natalia Seagreen (Raury), Christa Ellison Molock (Stephen), Tiffany Ellison, Megan  Ellison, Jasmine Martin and Adam Collins; four great-grandchildren, Garrett Seagreen, Audrey Solly, Kinsleigh Seagreen and Charlie Solly; and the father of her children, Larry Ellison (Sue), Dothan.
